Good morning!
It is a holiday weekend, but I hope you've gotten your workout in! I know it's hard. Often we just take the weekend off from our workouts and from eating right. I want to challenge you to eat what you need for fuel this weekend and not over-indulge just because the food is there. And instead of 'trying' to fit in that workout, plan that workout into your weekend. If you say you are going to "try," let's be honest; you probably won't get to it.
Maybe doing your scheduled Beachbody workout isn't going to work. You might be on the road for a mini-family vacation or to visit. Maybe you are just looking forward to sitting on the couch with friends and family to watch a big game tonight. Plan ahead and find a way to get some exercise in. Be creative! If you are on a long road trip, every time you stop run laps around a parking lot. Do some pushups! Yes, it looks crazy but you'll feel so much better getting the blood pumping!
Last night, I found out my sister was going to be in town so we went for a long walk. Got oxygen into our lungs and got our hearts pumping! Are you at a family gathering this weekend? Grab someone and go for a walk. Find a destination to walk to. Maybe there is a new house being built in the next neighborhood...or maybe someone has a really beautiful garden you could walk to or maybe it's time to take the kids to the park for a little bit.
More and more people are getting together to do workouts like P90X. If you and your family are all into P90X..go out on the lawn and do Kenpo or some form of Intervals! Play tennis or badminton or volleyball. One holiday a few of us gathered and played basketball. Another time we went up to a field and flew kites. There are lots of ways to be active, even on a holiday weekend and it sure beats sitting around and listening to politics and what the neighbor has been up to!
In this together.
