This is Gustav. We found him downtown hiding under a car last summer and he joined our other inside cat, Oskar. Gustav, or Gus for short, was named after the hurricane because he had very similar habits. He sometimes gets to running so fast that he can't stop on the hardwood floor and ends up sliding into the steps or the side of the stove. We hear a crash in the middle of the night and know it's Gus. But he's also as loving as he is goofy (and destructive.) And even though Dave's #1-100 rules when we first got married involved pets, specifically the lack of in the house, we now have 2 cats and a dog. We gave up on rodents..parakeets, hamsters, gerbils. Our small rodentia cemetery was full up!
Quite simply. I grew up with cats in the house. And I love them and they provide us with a lot of joy. So I'm glad Dave finally "gave in." I think he would admit now the error of his rules.
